Sunderland Crematorium Fees and Charges
Some funeral costs are third-party fees. These are fees charged by other organisations, such as the crematorium, cemetery, minister, celebrant or other service providers, and are separate from our funeral director charges.
Families who would like to check the current Sunderland Crematorium fees and charges can view the official Sunderland City Council bereavement fees page. We are always happy to explain what these fees mean and how they appear on a funeral estimate.
A funeral package is a set group of funeral services and charges, put together to make the arrangement clearer for families. Each package includes different services, such as our professional support, care of your loved one, a coffin, staff on the day and funeral vehicles, depending on the option chosen.
Packages make it easier to compare what is included and decide what feels right for your family. Some third-party costs may be included in a package, while others may be separate, depending on the type of funeral. We will always explain what is included, what is optional and what additional fees may apply before anything is confirmed.
Our funeral packages are designed to offer flexibility, transparency, and respectful care. While the exact inclusions vary by package, all options come with a clear breakdown of services.
Typical inclusions may include:
✅ Professional Services
✅ Hearse and Professional Attendants (package-dependent)
✅ Private Transfer to Our Funeral Home
✅ Care and Preparation of the Deceased (package-dependent)
✅ Standard Coffin with Engraved Nameplate (package-dependent)
✅ Viewing in Our Chapel of Rest (package-dependent)
Additional elements — such as limousines, upgraded coffins, floral tributes, or printed service materials — may be included or offered as optional extras depending on the chosen package.

Yes, we do. Burial can be arranged instead of cremation.
You’ll only pay the difference in cost between the two.
Please note: A burial plot is not included and must be purchased or already owned prior to interment.
Yes, we offer a Direct Burial package for families who prefer a simple, dignified burial without a formal funeral service or ceremony.
This option includes the essential arrangements required for a respectful burial and can be personalised with additional services if desired. It’s a practical alternative for those seeking a private farewell or planning a memorial at a later date.

No — we believe in clear, upfront pricing. Each of our funeral packages includes a detailed breakdown of what’s covered, so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Third-party costs (such as crematorium or cemetery fees, or officiant services) are listed separately where applicable. This ensures full transparency and gives you the freedom to personalise the funeral in a way that suits your wishes and budget.
We’re always happy to walk you through the options and provide a tailored quote with no surprises.
Yes, limousines are included at no additional cost in our Gold, Diamond, Dimond Plus and Platinum packages.
Absolutely. Our Bespoke package offers full personalisation—ideal for families wanting to tailor every detail to their wishes, traditions, and preferences.
If you choose one of our lower-cost packages (like Bronze or Direct Cremation), personalisation is more limited.
Extras such as limousines, additional cars, or premium options are available as upgrades, and we’re happy to discuss these with you during your consultation.
Our goal is to provide the right balance of affordability and flexibility—always with transparency and care.
Before a funeral can be arranged, we must wait for the medical examiner or coroner to complete their review and issue clearance. This process can vary but currently takes around two weeks on average—though in some cases it may take longer.
Once we receive clearance, we can then book the funeral based on availability at the crematorium or cemetery.
We’ll keep you informed throughout the process and do our best to arrange the service as soon as possible in line with your family’s wishes.
Yes, embalming is available at an additional cost.
This is carried out by our qualified embalmer, Tony, at our fully equipped on-site mortuary to ensure the highest standards of care and dignity.
Absolutely. We offer a range of flower arrangements to suit different preferences and budgets.
These can be added to any package at extra cost, and we’ll guide you through the options.
Yes. We can help organise refreshments or a venue for a gathering after the funeral.
This service is available at additional cost, and we’ll work with you to find something suitable for your needs.
Yes. Our funeral packages can often be tailored if your family would like different funeral transport.
For example, families may wish to choose a different style of hearse, add extra limousines, request a horse-drawn carriage, or ask about specialist options such as a motorcycle hearse. With horse-drawn funerals, the colour of the horses and carriage may vary depending on availability through the carriage master. Options may include black, white, grey, brown or mixed horses, and different carriage styles where available.
If you have something specific in mind, please tell us as early as possible. We will always do our best to source suitable transport and explain any additional costs before anything is confirmed.
Horse-drawn funeral options depend on availability through the carriage master. Families may be able to request different horse colours or carriage styles, including black or white carriage options where available. Please tell us your preferences as early as possible so we can check availability and confirm any additional cost.
Yes. If your family needs more limousines than the package includes, we can usually arrange additional limousines subject to availability. We will confirm the cost before adding extra vehicles to the funeral arrangements.
