Traditional funeral
One discount applies to our eligible professional fees when we carry out the funeral. Third-party charges are excluded, and discounts cannot be combined. The discounted invoice must be paid in full before the funeral, by the agreed payment deadline.
Your funeral will be charged at our prices in force when it is arranged, with the applicable Funeral Planning Promise® discount deducted. Registering today does not freeze today’s prices.
For example, if an eligible traditional funeral costs £4,800 when it is arranged in the future, the £250 discount reduces that price to £4,550.
Crematorium, cemetery and other third-party charges use the applicable rates for the funeral date and arrangements chosen. We will explain these in the written quotation before your family commits.
A prepaid funeral plan involves paying in advance for specified funeral arrangements. The services covered, guarantees, exclusions and charges depend on the particular plan.
The Funeral Planning Promise® is free to join. We do not take, hold or invest your money. You keep control of it and decide whether and how to set money aside.
There are no Promise setup, administration or cancellation fees. You remain free to choose another funeral director, although the discount can only be used with Tony Clarke Funeral Directors.
The future funeral still needs to be paid for. The Promise provides an eligible discount; it does not provide funeral funding or freeze prices.
You can record your preferred funeral arrangements, music and other wishes—or leave these undecided and contact us to update them later.
After submitting the online form, you can download a copy containing your reference, the details you supplied, the discount schedule and the terms you accepted. Applications requiring staff review receive an acknowledgement while we check eligibility.
We keep a registration record so our team can find it when needed. Keep your downloaded copy somewhere accessible and tell your family where to find it.
Registration is for a named living person aged 18 or over, before their funeral is arranged. If you apply for someone else, our team will review their consent or your authority to act.
The online form offers Sunderland, Durham, Birtley, Gateshead, Newcastle and South Shields as intended cremation or burial areas. You can also name a preferred crematorium or cemetery.
Your family can live elsewhere in the UK or overseas. Eligibility relates to the intended funeral location, rather than where the family lives.
If you choose another area or have not yet decided, our team will review your enquiry before confirming registration. Selecting a venue records a preference; it does not reserve a booking or guarantee availability.
Collection or transport outside our usual local area, including repatriation, requires separate agreement and may involve additional charges.
You are welcome to contact us to discuss your arrangements. An existing prepaid funeral plan does not automatically qualify for an additional Funeral Planning Promise® discount.
Before accepting a funeral funded by an existing plan, we must review its services, funding, provider approval and payment conditions. Any acceptance or separate goodwill reduction must be confirmed in writing.
Please speak to us and your plan provider before changing or cancelling your plan. Do not assume that paying privately for a funeral will entitle you to reimbursement from the provider.
